Manny Ferreira is an Architect turned Owner’s Project Manager (OPM), overseeing real estate development and renovation projects from planning and design to construction and closeout on behalf of owners and/or developers.
Born and raised in Rhode Island (USA), Manny’s passion for art, design, and the built environment led him to study Architecture at the New England Institute of Technology and Boston Architectural College.
As an Architect, he designed and administered construction of hundreds of buildings all over the east coast of the United States. It was during this time that he realized although Architect's played an important role in shaping the built environment, it was the owners and real estate developers who created the vision and mission for each project.
This led him to create a vision and mission for his own life work:
Vision: to enhance the well-being of humans through a passion for art, design and the built environment.
Mission: to develop creative housing where human beings can live, recharge, and evolve.
In pursuit of his mission, Manny set out to gain a deeper understanding of the different phases in the real estate development process so he could eventually manage the entire real estate development process.
While working full-time as an Architect, Manny received his Real Estate Salesperson’s license and worked part-time advising real estate buyers and sellers. This allowed him to gain experience in real estate sales, marketing, and financing. During this period, Manny also partnered with a local Real Estate Developer to co-develop a single family spec home.
After working as an Architect for 11 years and 6 months, Manny left the Architecture industry for the Construction industry to gain experience on the construction side of the development process.
In January 2018, Manny joined the KCM Group, a New England based employee-owned company providing Owner’s Project Management, Construction Management and Estimating services.
At the KCM Group, Manny first worked as a Construction Estimator for 6 months, which was enough time for him to gain a solid understanding of the construction estimating process.
In July 2018, he transitioned into both a Construction Project Manager and Owner’s Project Manager at KCM Group, working on several projects simultaneously.
In March 2020, Manny transitioned out of the Construction Project Manager role to focus full time as an Owner’s Project Manager (OPM.)
As an OPM, he has completed several multi-million dollar projects including an $8 million retrofit of a 4-story office building to a K-8 school, and over $50 million of housing projects of varying scope. In 2020, he decided to focus exclusively on managing housing projects as OPM.
Manny is currently the Director of Housing Projects at KCM Group, where he is overseeing over $100 million of housing projects in various phases of the development process.
